In case you have not noticed, orange traffic flags have been placed at some intersections in Queen Anne.  Children especially enjoy grabbing a flag on one side of the street, using it to warn oncoming traffic that there are people in the intersection, and then depositing the flag in the holder on the stop sign at the other side.  The schools have been great at training our kids on proper street safety that using the flags is quite natural to them.
